Dive into this year’s World Rivers Day with an action-packed family day out at Parramatta Park and Old Government House. Discover Parramatta River’s amazing history and natural beauty, learn how to make clean drinking water, become an artist for the day, and much more!
Meet the knowledgeable and friendly Greater Sydney Parklands education rangers as you explore the stunning spring blossoms in Wistaria Gardens before winding your way along Parramatta River.
Learn how to care for wildlife and their habitat in our busy city with the ‘Our Living River’ team from the Parramatta River Catchment Group. Take part in a litter clean-up of the river from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Bring your participation token to Old Government House for a free copy of the Old Government House guidebook.
Join us afterwards for ‘Junior Riverkeeper’ citizen science activities in the Old Government House Courtyard from 1:00 to 3:00pm.
Discover Parramatta River’s fascinating First Nations and colonial history at special curator’s tours of The River: Burramatta to Cockatoo exhibition at Old Government House. Entry to the exhibition is ticketed and includes the tours that are held at 11:00am, 12:30pm and 2:00pm.
