The Crescent
A spectacular amphitheatre, ideal for major events
This spectacular outdoor amphitheatre at the centre of Parramatta Park hosts concerts and events throughout the year, including The Crescent Summer Series and Sydney Festival’s Symphony Under the Stars.
A natural amphitheatre, The Crescent once framed a small billabong on the bank of the Parramatta River. It is a site of national significance for its association with Aboriginal people and early colonial farmers and graziers.
The amphitheatre is adjacent to Old Government House and connected by stairs to the Boer War Memorial and historic Bath House. Tours of the significant heritage sites in Parramatta Park occur monthly or you can download a self-guided walking tour.

The Crescent was upgraded to become a purpose-built space for major events with capacity for 18,000 people. During summer it becomes a 'plug-and-play' venue and can be booked with a concert stage and back of house – ideal for hire by festival organisers and music promoters.
