Parramatta Park will again be the venue for City of Parramatta’s Australia Day events on 25 and 26 January.
This Australia Day, enjoy two very special events in Parramatta: experience the breathtaking hot air balloon glow spectacular on January 25, followed by a morning of hot air balloon rides, delicious BBQ food, and family-friendly activities on Friday January 26.
Both events are held in the beautiful Parramatta Park, a wonderful place to sit and relax, get active, or explore our history.
The sky will light up on Thursday 25 January as the inaugural Balloon Glow event gets underway in Parramatta Park. The stunning music and illumination display includes live music, family activities, delicious food and more. Entry is free.

Balloons & Breakfast
Bring your friends and family to Parramatta Park on Australia Day to see the hot air balloons soaring while enjoying live music and entertainment, activities for the whole family plus yummy BBQ breakfast food.
Running from 6am until 11am, this free event is the perfect opportunity to get out of the house for a fun morning outdoors. More information and the program details will be announced by City of Parramatta soon.
Hot Air Balloon Rides
Fly high above the park in a hot air balloon! The tethered balloon rides run from 6am – 9am on Friday 26 January and cost $10 per person. Ballot registrations open 10am, Thursday 4 January and close 5pm, Tuesday 9 January. Terms and conditions apply*.

*Transaction fees may apply. One ballot entry per household. Once the ballot is closed, winners will be randomly selected and a direct link to purchase tickets will be sent. Successful ballot entry winners can book up to four tickets for their balloon ride. Any duplicate purchases may risk having their tickets cancelled without a refund. Due to safety reasons, children under 6 years are unable to ride in the hot air balloons.
